MM Control Valve

The MM series from Carraro is spring-loaded, self-activated, directly controlled valve, and is available as well as pressure-reducing and pressure-relieving / counter-pressure regulating valves. The main function of the pressure reduction valve is to adjust the flow of the medium (gas, steam or liquid) through the regulator to the demand for the medium in the system.

The MM series gives you:

  • Spring-loaded, self-actuated valves
  • Pressure reducing and relief functions
  • Available in 1 to 10 inches
  • Easy installation and maintenance.

MM Series: Versatile, Durable, and Self-Actuated Valves for Pressure Control

The MM series consists of spring-loaded, self-actuated, direct-operated valves designed for both pressure reduction and pressure relief/backpressure applications. Pressure-reducing valves regulate the flow of gas, steam, or liquid through the system, ensuring the flow matches system demand while maintaining pressure at a desired or acceptable range.

Pressure relief valves, on the other hand, protect systems from overpressure and can also function as backpressure regulators due to their excellent throttling capabilities. Available in body sizes ranging from 1 to 10 inches (DN25 to DN250), these valves are built for durability and ease of installation and maintenance, making them suitable for rugged use.

The MM series is divided into two primary groups:

  1. Downstream pressure regulating valves (pressure reducing):
    • Single seat (MM81-83)
    • Double seat (MM71-73)
  2. Upstream pressure regulating valves (backpressure):
    • Single seat (MM82-84)
    • Double seat (MM72-74)

Specialized Configurations to Meet Your Needs

The MM regulators from Carraro are also available in specialized configurations to meet unique application needs. These regulators can be crafted from exotic materials such as duplex, superduplex, alloy steel, and monel, with short lead times for fast delivery.

They offer flow characteristics beyond just quick-opening and feature stem packing made from PTFE-coated gaskets. The body sizes can extend up to DN 20”.

Additional optional features include extended bonnets, hand wheels, double diaphragms, and separation tanks designed to handle superheated steam or high-viscosity fluids.

The regulators can also be equipped with PTFE-coated bolts and nuts, and come with choices of butt weld and socket weld connections.

For enhanced functionality, pressure gauges can be included as well.
