BPM Control Valve

The BPM series from Carraro is designed with a unique actuator assembly and a packingless construction. This series offers enhanced sensitivity by reducing friction and eliminating external leakage through a sealed spring case. Suitable for both pressure-reducing and backpressure applications, these valves are known for their reliable performance in demanding conditions.

This series benefits you with:

  • Leak-proof design
  • High valve sensitivity
  • Compact construction
  • Internal/external pressure sensing options.

BPM Series: Advanced, Leak-Proof Pressure Regulators with Enhanced Sensitivity

The BPM series regulators are an evolution of the MM series(see the serie here), differentiated by a modified actuator assembly. These regulators are designed with a packingless construction and a sealed spring case, which ensures no leakage, even during diaphragm failure or regular operation. The absence of packing enhances the valve's sensitivity by reducing friction, making them highly responsive. For external pressure sensing, a simple lip seal gasket is all that’s required. The BPM series is also more compact than the MM series and can be equipped with either internal or external pressure sensing.

These spring-loaded, self-actuated, direct-operated valves are suitable for both pressure reduction and pressure relief/backpressure applications. Pressure-reducing valves ensure the flow of gas, steam, or liquid through the system matches demand while maintaining the system pressure within a specified range. Pressure relief valves protect against overpressure and also serve as backpressure regulators, offering precise throttling capabilities. The series is available in body sizes ranging from 1 to 10 inches (DN25 to DN250) and is built for rugged applications while remaining easy to install and maintain.

The BPM series is divided into two main categories:

  1. Downstream pressure regulating valves (pressure-reducing):
    • Single seat (BPM81-83)
    • Double seat (BPM71-73)
  2. Upstream pressure regulating valves (backpressure):
    • Single seat (BPM82-84)
    • Double seat (BPM72-74)

Specialized Configurations to Meet Your Needs

The BPM regulators are available in specialized configurations to cater to unique application needs. These options include the use of exotic materials, such as duplex, superduplex, alloy steel, and monel, which can be provided with short lead times.

Additionally, the regulators can feature flow characteristics beyond the standard quick-opening type and come in body sizes up to DN 20".

Optional features include a double diaphragm, separation tank for managing high-viscosity fluids, PTFE-coated bolts and nuts, and both butt-weld and socket-weld connections.

External pressure sensing and pressure gauges are also available to enhance functionality and control.
