The QSE Mag Series from Flomec is a reliable and highly accurate electromagnetic flow meter, which is designed for monitoring flow and usage in for example commercial applications.
Moreover, the NorylTM housing and flow tube is lightweight and provide a flowmeter that is resistant to heat and compatible with many water-based liquid solutions.
The QSE Mag Flowmeter has the following features that benefits you:
Comes in seven line sizes: ½”, ¾”, 1”, 1.5”, 2”, 3”, & 4”
Offers a low investment and operating costs because it is non-intrusive - it has no moving parts to wear out, which means that maintenance and repair costs are low
Tolerates high flows without damage.
Slightly modified bore that allows unobstructed flow and minimizes flow disruptions and straight pipe requirements
A wide turndown ratio of 60:1
+ 0.5% Accuracy of Reading (from 0.25 fps to 15 fps [0.08 to 4.6 m/s)
The QSE Mag Series from Flomec is a series of flowmeters that monitors flow rate and total flow in a wide variety of applications. However, it is recommended that you use flexible expansion joints on one or both ends, when you install the Mag meter to a metal pipe. This eliminate any pressure that might be sustained from misaligned rigid metal piping.
In regarding of heating restraints, the housing and flow tube is lightweight and provide and easy-to-install flowmeter, which is highly resistant to heat (210°F [99°C]).
Furthermore, if you have to meet certain potable water regulations this series are NSF61 certified.
The operating principle of Electromagnetic Induction
The QSE Series Flowmeters are operating on the principle of the Faraday’s Law of Electromagnetic Induction, which asserts that a voltage will be induced in a conductor when it passes through a magnetic field, and the induced voltage will be directly proportional to the velocity of the conductor passing through that magnetic field.
In the QSE meters the flowing liquid is the conductor, and the flowmeter creates the magnetic field. The flowing liquid has to pass through the magnetic field and is, thus, the velocity of the conductor. A voltage is induced in the conductive liquid as it passes through the magnetic field.
It is possible to precisely measure the induced voltage because of the electrodes placed in specific locations on the flow tube of the meter. This makes it possible to determine the corresponding velocity and volumetric flow of the liquid.
The QSE flowmeter has several types of output electronics available. All electronics for the operation of the meter coils and flow tube are housed within the meter body casing.
The cover plate is designed in two versions; a plain cover plate or a display mount cover plate.
The electronics and the choice of communications suites (QSI1, QSI2 or QSI3) and are housed within the plain cover plate.
The Q9 display is also available mounted to the “display mount” cover plate.
By default, all meters are equipped with galvanically isolated pulse-out electronics as a standard, regardless of style of cover plate.
