Digital Rate Indicator for Hazardous Areas
The DA 72-173... Ex indicators are specifically designed to visually represent various physical quantities, such as RPM, speed, and flow, which are manifested as frequencies in electrical voltages. These frequencies can be generated by different sources, including sinusoidal alternating currents from active inductive sensors, impulse transmitters, or rectangular voltages from pulse sensors. It's important to note that these sensors must be approved for hazardous areas and supplied separately.
The 4-digit LCD indicator operates on extremely low auxiliary power, enabling its safe use in hazardous environments. This power can either be extracted from the measuring signal itself or supplied independently. When using the measuring signal as the power source, a minimum frequency and voltage level must be met to ensure proper operation.
For the DA 72-1732..Ex variant, there are switches located on the rear side that offer the flexibility to assign the display to the input frequency in nearly any desired configuration. This customization capability allows for optimal adaptation to specific measurement requirements.
